Roles & permissions

When you invite someone to collaborate, you choose a role and configure granular permissions that control exactly what they can access.

Sharing and permissions require a Pro plan.

Roles

Co-owner

A co-owner is typically your partner, spouse, or a family member who needs full access to your shared finances.

Defaults:

• All permissions turned ON
• Optionally linked to an entity (e.g. their individual entity in your account)
• Can view and manage everything you give them access to

Best for: Partners, spouses, family members managing shared household finances.

Collaborator

A collaborator is someone who needs to see your financial data but typically shouldn't make changes or manage your account structure.

Defaults:

• Most permissions turned ON (view access)
• Import and Manage Entities turned OFF
• No entity link

Best for: Accountants, financial advisors, bookkeepers, tax agents.

Granular permissions

Regardless of role, you can toggle each permission individually:

Changing permissions

To update a collaborator's permissions:

1. Go to Settings > Sharing
2. Find the person under "People I've Shared With"
3. Click Permissions
4. Toggle individual permissions on or off
5. Click Save Permissions

Changes take effect immediately.
