What is an SMSF entity?

An SMSF (Self-Managed Super Fund) entity lets you track your self-managed superannuation fund's investments, contributions, and compliance requirements — all within Finance Frank.

SMSF entities require a Pro plan.

Setting up an SMSF entity

  1. Go to Settings > Entities and click Add Entity
  2. Select SMSF as the entity type
  3. Enter the fund name and ABN
  4. Click Create

What you can track

  • Fund assets — shares, property, cash, and other investments held by the SMSF
  • Fund liabilities — limited recourse borrowing arrangements (LRBAs)
  • Contributions — concessional and non-concessional contributions
  • Transactions — import fund bank statements
  • Compliance — track regulatory requirements and deadlines (see SMSF Compliance)

SMSF compliance tools

With a Pro plan, SMSF entities also include compliance tracking:

  • Investment strategy review reminders
  • Sole purpose test checklist
  • Contribution cap monitoring
  • Annual audit preparation checklist

See the SMSF Compliance guide for details.
