Managing Subscriptions

Last updated 2026-02-20

Why track subscriptions?

The average Australian spends over $100/month on subscriptions without realising it. Finance Frank helps you see exactly where your money goes.

Adding a subscription

1. Navigate to Money > Subscriptions

From the Money section, select the Subscriptions tab.

2. Click Add

Fill in the details:

  • Name — e.g. "Netflix", "Spotify", "Gym Membership"
  • Amount — the recurring cost
  • Frequency — weekly, fortnightly, monthly, quarterly, or annually
  • Provider — the company (optional)
  • Category — Streaming, Music, Software, Gaming, Health & Fitness, etc.
  • Next Billing Date — when the next payment is due (optional)

3. View your summary

At the top of the subscriptions tab, you'll see:

  • Total monthly cost — all subscriptions converted to a monthly figure
  • Active count — how many active subscriptions you have

Pausing subscriptions

You can pause a subscription without deleting it. Paused subscriptions:

  • Show a PAUSED badge
  • Are excluded from your monthly total
  • Can be resumed at any time

This is useful for seasonal subscriptions or services you're considering cancelling.
