Tracking Net Worth

What is net worth?
Your net worth is the total value of everything you own (assets) minus everything you owe (liabilities). It's one of the most important indicators of your financial health.
Net Worth = Total Assets − Total Liabilities
Viewing your net worth
Your net worth is displayed prominently on your dashboard. It updates automatically whenever you:
- Add, edit, or remove an asset
- Add, edit, or remove a liability
- Update the value of any financial item
Net worth over time
Finance Frank tracks changes to your net worth and shows you a historical chart on your dashboard. This helps you:
- See the trend — are you growing your wealth?
- Identify periods of growth or decline
- Measure progress toward financial goals
Tips for accurate tracking
- Update property values periodically to reflect current market conditions
- Keep bank balances current by importing transactions regularly
- Include all liabilities — mortgages, personal loans, credit cards, HECS/HELP, and any other debts
- Track super as an asset even though you can't access it yet — it's part of your total wealth
Multi-entity net worth
If you manage multiple entities, each has its own net worth calculation. The dashboard shows the net worth for the currently selected entity.
